Hyper Karting

Latarka was tasked with transforming the 5th floor of an ordinary multi-story carpark into a completely extraordinary night-life karting experience. We were given a blank slate, a lot of trust, and the very broad mission statement: “make it cool”.

Our team installed over 30,000 individually-controlled pixels of lighting (that’s almost 200 DMX universes!) all while the venue remained open to racers. We succeeded in seamlessly integrating our lighting and media control platforms with go-kart safety systems and internal management apps.

Our solutions for Hyper Karting include:

– A 110m Pixel Wall spanning the entire rear perimeter of Hyper Karting. The pixel wall allows for patterns, text, and even corporate logos to be displayed throughout the venue.
– Hundreds of pixel-mapped lighting bars installed on the ceiling. These fixtures create a powerful night-life ambience throughout the hospitality areas and allow for both geometric and organic lighting effects to sweep throughout the venue.
– Over 100 static and moving fixtures track-side reinforce the night-life ambience for racers and add movement.
– An Interactive Winners Podium / Media Wall affords racers the opportunity to take fun, high quality pictures for their social media alongside Hyper Karting branding.
– Full integration with Hyper Karting’s Kart & Venue Safety System: Pitting laps, the slowing and stopping of karts for accident response, as well as fire alarms and panic modes all trigger different lighting states and AV modes to assist staff and racers.
– Intelligent power management and control: Over 72 individually managed circuits can be remotely switched on or off allowing staff to easily open trade, close trade and reset any of the venue’s technology as required.
– A IR-triggered Finish Line system helps celebrate a racer’s accomplishment with bright bursts of warm white light.
– Haze and Smoke Atmospheric systems throughout the venue.
– Safety flood lighting which turns on automatically at night and in the event of an on-track accident or fire alarm.

Completing our engagement in January 2024, Latarka developed dozens of bespoke technology solutions for our client, fulfilling their vision and exceeded their expectations.
